By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Last time the pain subsided in a few days. I still have lots of pain when I do anything. I walk from the bedroom to the kitchen and my heart is racing and my chest hurts. Of course, this is only 2 days out of the hospital and I do have an extra 15 pounds of fluid as well. My heart goes from 72 beats to 115 in a matter of steps. And I am so weak. I think I tried to put the last PEs out of my mind.

Ok full disclosure. I've never given birth to anything except an idea or two, but I suspect it's a little like birth. Hurts like hell, but you sort of forget, until you do it again, and then you remember. Hang tough Lynne. You'll get through it.
