Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Welcome back!!!!

When I was where you were, I hung on the words of posts from people who were doing well long after their PE, so I always vowed I would do the same...this network is priceless I've made long term friends who live halfway across the globe... but we all have this strong bond!!!!
If you ever have any questions or just need to talk message me!
That's good to hear. I'm 2.5 months out, and am feeling better today, than I have since before my PE. I know it will continue to be a long road to recovery w/ ups and downs, but everyone I hear is doing well post PE gives me hope.
Take care!
Lesa
Thank you for sharing words of encouragement! Congratulations on your recovery.... you give me hope!
Take good care of yourself... God Bless.
That's great that you are doing so well. I have been on and off as ended up getting another 2 PEs with about 9 months apart. The last one was a couple of months ago so I'm still in the relatively early stages of recovery this time round. I hope no one on this board does ever get repeat PEs but if you unfortunately do what I've found is that at least you know what to expect and what to do so that takes quite a bit of stress and anxiety out of things.
I was on coumadin for about 8 months give or take... and its been a hard journey but... I am mostly at peace with my experience now and I realize that it happened for a reason maybe to stop me in my tracks and tell me to start enjoying life..
It is not easy I had tons of anxiety and many returns to the ER b.c of leg pain or chest pain, but everytime I was fine... it was always chalked up to an anxiety attack... Sometimes I think the mental aspect can be harder to heal from then the physical.
Good luck, message me if you need to talk.
TRAVELNUT!!! Long time no talk!!!
So sorry to hear you had reoccuring PEs! But I am so happy to see you here and in good spirits! What was the cause of the new ones?
I wish you a super speedy recovery! Keep on trucking b.c obviously your body is too smart and strong to let PEs get it! are you on coumadin? are the clots happening while your INR is good?
