By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Hi all
Having a nightmare. Got a really bad pain again Thursday and coughed up a bit of blood! Now I am in the hospital again after having another CT scan.
Results wont be back till tomorrow so in the meantime am back on clexane so INR all over place 6.4 at the last count.
Really worried as dont know what they will do as my INR was in range at the time
Driving my self mad with worry so keep all fingers crossed!

After a CT scan,stones were seen in my gall bladder so PE was ruled out and Gall Bladder Attack was the prognosis.
The pain was localised to my right side at the bottom of my rib cage, the reason I was having problems breathing was that my gall bladder was swelled up and was pushing my liver into my lung.
I have been told by some who have experienced both(PE and Gall Bladder attacks) and they said that it is similar.
Hope this helps, not saying it's a gall stone or a gall bladder attack, heck people that know will tell you that I'm NOT a Dr, just talking from experience.
I'm still waiting for a date on the surgeon's table...
