Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
This sounds like a not-so-pleasant side effect. I hope it reverses itself soon for you.
My hair was my thing. It was the only physical thing about myself I liked. And it had to be long, I never had it short because I hate short hair styles. I was on disability and broke anyways but now with extra medical bills it is really bad so no wig or extensions for me.
Any cheap suggestions?
I'm a warfarin lifer too and actually, the hair loss has slowed down over the years and kind of comes out sporadically. I just try to keep it as healthy as possible with regular trims.
Thank You for your support.
I feel your pain. I know it sounds really superficial, but I loved my hair too. It really was the only thing about myself I really liked and it grew really fas and thickt. I would grow it out and every 18 months cut off 12 inches to donate. It used to take me 2 hours to straighten it, now I can do the same job in less than 15 minutes. :( 5 years ago when I started taking bc pills, it started falling out and I lost more than half my hair. I've lost even more on warfarin, and am so NOT happy with the situation. I've already had to resort to short hair, which I hate. I am really hoping without the bc pills and warfarin I can get at least some of my hair back. I've resorted to only washing my hair 3x/week, as it seems for me I lose the same amount every time I wash it. Maybe that's just in my head, but at least I don't have to pull out the handfuls of hair everyday. Now, I would gladly take no-hair over all the anxiety I have post PEs. I would happily shave my head and walk around completely bald if I could just get a grip on this blasted anxiety!
My husband's employer has a 4 year old daughter with alopecia. Try that. I'm not saying we don't have a right to bemoan hair loss, but it's important to try to keep it in perspective
As of now, my braid is a third what it used to be. huge clumps are coming out when I shower or brush and periodically during the day, I am running my hair through my hands to grab the stuff that's falling during the day.
when i look at my health history and EVERYTHING that's happened, I am lucky i have hair at all, and so the odds of it 'getting better' aren't so good. and growing out will take years. literally.
assuming it grows out again, and does not just keep going like this because of ongoing health stressors.
