Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I was thinking today that I I hate having a pulmonary embolism, but am grateful for three things.
1. That it was diagnosed. As much as I hate having one, better to know than not.
2. That it isn't painful. I read so many posts from people whose PEs cause pain.
3. That I found this site. It's easier to go down a rough road if you're traveling with someone who has been down that road before.
