By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I had an occular vascular occlusion a couple of months ago. ( Blood clot in artery behind the eye.)
I have recently suffered a DVT whilst being therapeutic on warfarin. I was also therapeutic with the eye clot.
I have a rare genetic condition in my collagen they believe is causing this.
I was panicked initially but am lucky to have good drs looking after me and monitoring the problem closely.
I have had to increase my INR range to 2.5 to 3.5.
Good news is I went back to eye Dr today and NO permanent damage to my eye.
I have decided to reduce my anxiety by focusing on the positives. My children definitely help with this. My dog-like cat and beautiful German Shepard also help.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
You've really had an ordeal but sound at peace with things which I think is sometimes half the battle with this stuff, you know.
And animals really do wonders for us, don't they?
Animals do help ... Also, before I was diagnosed, my cat would not leave my side & always wanted to lay by my chest.. It was really as if she knew something was wrong. Thank God he gave me the strength to keep going back for help.

My dog is really bothered when I go for a swim. She will sit by the edge of the pool and cry. If I swim underwater she will become very distressed.
The funny thing is that after my first PE I didn't swim for about 18 months because I felt like I was drowning. I didn't swim under water until recently (over 12 months after my 2nd PE.) I think she senses my unease and worries.
My cat will sit with me when I feel unwell. He also watches my son who has a disability when he sleeps. He will not go to sleep unless my son has settled. He just sits next to him and waits.
Pets are great therapy.
