By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

When I was in hospital with my 2 nd PE I made a list of things I wanted to achieve in life. One of my goals was to take my 5 children for their first visit to the snow. I DID IT!!!!
5 hr plane ride + 3 1/2 hr drive and we played in the snow.
Dealt with my anxiety of driving a distance from a major city and thoughts of getting a major bleed if hit in the head with a snowball (irrational I know but the thought was there).. Had an absolutely amazing time throwing snow balls and making snowmen. My baby girl who drs didn't think would survive the pregnancy because of the clots I had with her is now 5 yrs old and spent her time sliding down hills " like a penguin".
I felt incredibly lucky and blessed to have the experience with them.

Excellent!!! I love hearing this kind of thing. At the end of the day, we just have get on with the business of living. This kind of thing is such a confidence builder , confidence in your body, your decisions etc.

This sounds like SUCH a good time. I mean, I live where it snows every year and I still LOVE the stuff. What a great trip for your family on so many levels! Way to go!

Wow good for you for doing this. I completely understand the anxiety of traveling but am so glad to hear that you did this with your kids and overcame your anxiety. With all the step backwards we seem to deal with any step forward is a huge and wonderful thing.

I am with you when it comes to anxiety. It's scary business, PEs. I'm glad you faced the fear and had a great time. That's Awesome!! So thankful your children still have you with them to enjoy these amazing times together.
