Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Well taking it one day at a time, im hoping loosing weight will give me some energy and bounce back!!!! ( less jiggle tho ) lol eww i know sowwie thats gross!
I know I'm still very nervous about coming off the coumedin, but I'm waiting until July or August. Don't want the stress in June..... you have already come off and you're doing great. Maybe your doc will let you get a d-dimer test like Nancy to see if your body is clotting, but I personally think you're doing wonderful my friend!! :) AlexandraK
Well, I have to say, IT REALLY DOES GET BETTER. I never thought I would say that. When I came off Warfarin, I joined a Slimming class, but my heart was not in it so I gave up. I am loads overweight, but I felt I needed to get over my PE trauma first before embarking on one of my obsessive weight loss programs - I was tired basically. I feel ready now to start getting healthy and I am doing it in small steps.
I still get the twinges and panic attacks now and then, but I get through them and they become much less and further between. I read on a post that we will never quite be the same again and that is true - we are now EVEN better - yes, we did not want this to happen to us, but it has and now we are so much better informed at how important life is and we should use this experience to make our lives happy.
We know the medical system inside out and we know how totake care of ourselves. If we have any illnesses in future, we say we had a PE in the past and we get seen sooner. If we get pregnant, then we have extra care from specialists.
Remember everyone can have a clot - a DVT, a PE - that is every person can have one - some do, some dont, some are more likely, some are not, but we have no control over that - we can control losing weight, taking supplements to naturally thin our blood and looking after oursleves by regular check ups with our DRs. We have had a clot and SURVIVED - therefore, we SURVIVE clots - our bodies should be congratulated for that at least. Thatis how I like to think about it - we are intuned to our bodies warning systems and now we are MEGA in tune cos we had one before so we can always be vigilant in the future.
Also the amount of research is amazing on clots and new reserach is happening all the time and so are new medicines. I know warfarin gets a hard rap, and i am not its biggest fan, but at least there is a medicine out there that can protect us from clots.
Anyway, I have ranted, but I overall wanted to say that Ashley, it does get better, I promise. Email me anytime if you need to chat and you dont see me on here, or facebook me.
