Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Hi guys,
I had a PE and pneumonia 6 months ago.
I have had a tricky time with recovery, a lot of chest pain, SOB and fatigue throughout, stomach aches and muscular pain.
Most recently three weeks ago, i start suffering from worsening fatigue and weakness, seemed to be triggered by a flu/cold.
I recovered slowly, over 2 weeks, and had a week and a half of feeling very good - the first time in months!
After this, I didn't get much sleep for several days in a row, and for the past 4 days have been feeling extremely fatigued; constantly yawning etc despite have slept well for 3 days in a row - similar to how i did after my flu.
Did anyone else experience severe fatigue 6 months out from PE?
Thanks
Indy

Now that I am not talking to my whatever best friend, I realized that her life is full of drama. I had grown tired of hearing her stories about her boyfriend many months ago. She basically had been monopolizing conversations for that long too. She pretty much stopped asking me questions about me. I passed her in front of her classroom the other day and didn't even look at her. I am...

Also, as someone who has dealt with extreme insomnia for the last 15 years or so, I would also say not to discredit the amount of impact that loss of sleep can have on a healing body. You may need more than three days of "catch-up" sleep to start feeling back to where you were after not getting much for a few days.
Your body is still healing, so I'm not at all surprised that not getting enough sleep has had such an impact on how you feel. Give yourself another few days and really baby yourself. If you really don't feel like you're seeing improvement, you could check in with your doc, but what you're describing sounds pretty normal to me.
With pneumonia on top of a PE it sounds terrible!
6 months after my PE's and dvts I had extreme joint pain, muscle aches and worsening fatigue... It was actually worse then it had been 2 or 3 months earlier.
Especially with a lack of regular sleep your body can really become so run down...
Hope you feel better soon!
This board is always so helpful.
If i target 9 hours sleep per day (work, eat, sleep) I can avoid the fatigue.
