Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
So I ended up in the ER today. They think I had another clot. But I did learn something. These clots can affect the blood pressure in the lungs. Thus making it harder to get back to excersizing after a clot. This is caused by the damage the clots do to the lungs and more. And it can take more time than we think to heal.
At this time I am still in the ER waiting on results.
My D dimer was high but CT showed no PEs. But as Doc said that just means nothing in lungs. I should state that i have had high D dimers before with no clots and low or normal D dimers and clots. Go figure.
Ultrasound clean. See my PE doc Friday and Primary care on Wednesday.
Will talk with PE doc about a few things like blood in urine most likely side affect of Pardaxa. Also about checking BP on lung side as suggested. He also said I may want to look at permanent clot catcher..
Would just like a better quality of life than what I am having at this time.
