Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I was diagnosed with bilaterial PE and DVT in left leg. Have any of you been evaluated by an interventional radiologist? I am on Eliquis. Do any of you take supplements that can also thin your blood, like Fish Oil?

Hi no I wasn’t. I don’t take any supplements for blood thinning. I’m on Xarelto.

I had interventional radiology at the time to apply clot busting drugs directly to the clot without making my surgery wound bleed. I have had two follow up cardiac caths since due to ongoing symptoms.

I would not take an extra blood thinner unless I discussed it with my hematologist first. Remember we are trying to balance the risk of clotting with the risk of bleeding.

Sorry I completely forgot, because it's been a while, but yeah, I had a filter inserted via interventional radiology when I was in the hospital but not anything after that. I had clot busting drugs administered while in the ER via IV for the PEs. I wasn't sure if you were asking about interventional radiology post diagnosis, like a while after the fact.

Hello I was brought into ER with an massive saddle pe. They had to send me to interventional radiology because due to the size of it, but also because I had just had surgery 2 days prior, I needed a surgical thrombectomy to suck it out. I guess it took a few hours, as they kept bringing me in and out of consciousness. I was on iv heparin for a few days, then now on xarelto for the rest of my life. Usually they intervene if you need a filter put in(clot catcher) or like in my case. More than likely, hopefully you are doing better now.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
