Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I've lost weight so there's less fat there, but I am curious. I will ask the doc on the 30th.
Hot weather can make your veins more pronounced because it dilates veins
I think we notice things more in and on our bodies after a PE/DVT because we become so hyper vigilant about everything.
I would like to see the science on how warfarin would be specifically responsible for this.
Just one woman's thoughts and observations. If you think it's from warfarin, have at it.
Like I said if you think it's warfarin that's what you think, but there may often be other explanation for things. And I'm not saying we shouldn't use terms like thinner and thicker because it's kind of how the general population understands anticoagulation and I use those terms all the time myself. But when we understand how the drug works, it takes some of the mystery out of the drug, and then maybe we won't feel so compelled to blame every single thing we notice as a side effect for warfarin.
I'm not trying to argue that your experience isn't real or anything like that. I mean, if people think it's warfarin that's doing something, then think they can think that.
Any when I was off warfarin briefly, my hair stopped falling out too.
I saw an oral surgeon and he laughed (but politely). It was a venous lake and very common for people who had a lot of sun exposure, which described me at the time. I was sure it was melonoma.
But I can understand how some might worry about it, esp. after DVTs/PEs.
You mean they aren't??? (humor emoticon inserted here)
