By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I know we've been talking about fear of falling and cutting ourselves and the dangers of coumadin. After writing the last post, I looked down and realized I must have cut myself at some point this morning while getting parts of my dinner ready. So, there goes the fear. I never thought about cutting myself. And obviously, the bleeding stopped. As I said before, I think at some point we just realize we've gone back to living. And that this coumadin is not as bad as we thought.

Yep, cuts tend to be a little messier a little longer, but otherwise it is exactly the same.

During the time I was on the rat poison, I got bit by a cat at the shelter. Not a really bad one but enough to draw blood. I went to get band-aids, and walked out to the desk to deal with it. When I took off what face cloth I was justing to apply pressure with I was amazed that it had stopped bleeding. I said some thing aloud, about that and the Animal Control Office looked at me like I was a fool, and told me, "It''s suppose too.

Yeah, I was always terrified that if I got a paper cut I was going to bleed out....however, this is not the case at all! It is an adjustment in life, but something that is completely livable!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
