Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I don't know, maybe I am crazy but.....
Yesterday afternoon, while sitting outside, I suddenly noticed a bit of a lump in my lower right leg. About twoi nches above the ankle, but below where a DVT would generally be. Looked for a bite perhaps, but found nothing. I know I did not bang it. There was no pain at all, but it was slightly warmer than the rest of my leg, so I did go to a walk-in treatment center if for no other reason than to have my INR checked.
INR came back at 2.7. They also did a d-dimer but I did not that get those results until today. In the meantime however, they had wanted me to go for an ultrasound to be sure. Within minutes of scheduling that, I got the call that the blood work all came back fine other than showing I was dehydrated. So, after thinking about it, and taking into consideration that I have a doctors appt. next week, I canceled the ultrasound. So, there in lies my statement, maybe I am crazy! :o)
I am just so tired (as are most of us at some point) of going for test after test after test. It seemed pointless to me if I am in range. Also got the results of my PFTS a few weeks ago and I did better on them than my pulmonologist who is younger, fit, and a non-smoker which I was for 27 yrs!!
So really, I guess it is not opinions I am looking for, maybe just other people yet again, who simply understand. Either way. thanks as always for listening!!

Now that I am not talking to my whatever best friend, I realized that her life is full of drama. I had grown tired of hearing her stories about her boyfriend many months ago. She basically had been monopolizing conversations for that long too. She pretty much stopped asking me questions about me. I passed her in front of her classroom the other day and didn't even look at her. I am...

Honestly, I would have done the same thing as you: I would think, ok, my INR is good, the chances of it being a clot are slim and I'm canceling the test. Whether that's right or wrong is an individual thing, you know, and there is always some small risk in that, but really, I LIKE ME BETTER when I'm not running to the doc or getting another test every time the wind blows. That's not to say that there aren't going to be times when something just feels not right, and so I'll need to really pay attention during those times.
You sound like you trust yourself. That's a GOOD thing. You'll keep an eye on it, note any changes, and assess if that warrants a discussion with your doctor about another scan. If you're crazy, hell, then so am I!
That all said, I am curious of course as to what this lump is. But unless it send of warning signs, I am ok with waiting.
All of my doctors (primary, pulm., and hematologist) are being pretty agrressive with their testing etc to find out just what the heck happened. And for that, I am very grateful. At the same time though, very tired. And needless tests are getting on my nerves. LOL
On another bright note though, my hematologist sent me for an abdominal/pelvic ct (checking for masses/cancer) and the only thing that showed up were gallstones. For the time being, I can live with that! :o)
