It is documented that DVT in my legs is cause of bilateral PE's and pulmonologist says 'absolutely NO' to compression hose at this stage. Compression hose were prescribed a few years before for varicose veins and I suppose in hindsight I should have prevailed on dealing with those hideous things. I did wear them many years ago during pregnancies. Good luck. Seems to be a fair amount of MYSTERY in dealing with this illness. Agree?

My pulmonoligist only told me to wear them after I asked about flying. He then went on to say wear them every day. I was fitted in hospital, they go all the way up the tighe but they do take the ache away in the calf.

If your foot or leg swells you should definitely consider compression stockings. The swelling will result in scar tissue forming, The more swelling the more scare tissue that forms. If enough scar tissue forms, you will get pain associated with it. At that point, there is not much that can be done for the pain.

My Dr prescribed Xarelto for my thinner and he stated with that with a Most recent D dimer of 580 that I was definitely not clotting again or at risk. I certainly would talk to your Dr again and explain your concerns. So far I have not had any complications from the blood thinner or bleeding so I can't really compare our situations. Let me know what you find out though please......
