Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I was diagnosed with my PE 3/19. In the months since it's been an up and down road. Went to doc this week and she confirmed what I thought - I'm breathing much better, doing much better. After all this time I finally got a look at my CT scan. She showed me the clot and it scared the dickens out of me (this was the day after Dennis Farina died of a PE). My clot was easily 90-95% of the artery. I'm stunned any blood was getting through it.
But I have gotten through it. Am still working on things, of course, and am still on Wafarin through October (when I go back to doc again).
Anyhow, just wanted to pop in and let people know how I was doing. You folks helped get me through the rough parts of this and I'm very grateful!

Great news. You and I are on about the same schedule with warfarin until Oct. I'm gonna need some serious support then as I will be frightened to go off of it! But there is a chance that they will keep me on it as my PE is a possible second occurance...don't have the CT scan to prove the first time it happened. I'm torn as I don't want to be on it for life either...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
