Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I don't know why everything upsets me so much. I had an appointment with my cardiologist this morning. I went out and low and behold, I had a flat tire. There was a guy picking up trash in my apartment complex and he said, "How is your day?" And I said, "not great. Need to be at a doctor and my tire is flat" His response..."that's too bad" and kept on walking. I have to admit, I took one look at the trunk and considered trying to change it myself. Which I immediately knew was not an option. Then I got upset to think that I can't even change my own tire anymore. I am at the whim of maintenance guys or my roadside assistance. And then I felt useless. I know I've been depressed with this, but didn't realize how bad I felt until this morning. I went back into my apartment, changed my appointment and called roadside assistance. Then I sat and cried. I hate being like this. Oh...and my son, who is too far away to rescue me, also said it probably would not be a good idea to change a tire, since my INR was at 5 and he doesn't want me to get cut and bleed out. The things we have to think about. Thank you for letting me vent. I'm facing my own limitations and I don't like it.

Dear Lynne - So sorry to hear you feeling like this - im sat here crying too just reading your post!! I also feel very tearful and anxious - was almost told to come off Warfarin today until i begged GP to let me go at least to 6 months. Seems we're fighting these invisible demons on a daily basis: we look fine on the outside, but inside we're crying and scared. I am seriously considering going back on anti-deps (which i hate) but if it's going to get me (and you?) through the dark days, then it has to be good. We have to be thankful that we survived and I have to keep reminding myself of that when I feel very down. I find that taking my 2 dogs out walking in the countryside really helps, and ive also just started swimming again. It's really exhausting but I feel great when it's over - fresh air and exercise - it's a real tonic. I think depression and anxiety are all part of post -PE recovery. Things will get better for sure; just hang on in there and know that there are plenty of people here all willing each other on the long road to full recovery. Let's just do it together eh?? Lots of hugs xxxxxxx

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
