Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Hope you find something that works!

I'd suggest making an appoint with a Gyno to discuss what options would be best for you. For years, I used to have all my female exams and BC prescribed by my regular GP, but since the PEs, I started seeing a Gyno, and worked with her to figure out what my options were, so I could make an informed choice.
I had good luck with an IUD. Very effective and pretty much no maintenance once it is placed. But yeah, talk to your OB/GYN. I love mine!

Apparently it is the estrogen and synthetic progesterone (progestin) that put you at a higher risk. I would check with your doctors to be certain, though. There is also something in Yaz and it's generics called " drosperinone" and the FDA is working on tests now, because of the high incidence of PE's in women who have taken this formulation of birth control formulation.
Be careful. I have had a lot of success with evening primrose oil, acupuncture, and yoga in regulating my period. I wish luck.

I use birth control other than a condom- I use a non hormonal IUD. So there's no risk for blood clots, and it's very effective against preventing pregnancy. So, it's what I like to call a win/win.
There are other options. You are not resigned to a life of condoms or the convent. I'm just sayin'.
