I was so sick over the holidays with bronchitis and a sinus infection. While I'm feeling better now, I still have the cough and wheezing. My doc said that he predicted I'd have the chest tightness and coughing for up to 3 weeks. He prescribed an inhaler which I'm using as needed for the wheezing. Apparently the stuff going around right now is hard to kick completely. Everyone I know has had lingering illness for a couple of weeks now. My PEs were a few years ago and I don't think it's relevant with my particular illness, but even now, cold weather still bothers my lungs since I had the PEs.

I've not experienced the chest pain that others mention----- but I think I experienced a bit of it the other night. I was 'inhaling' (orally) a chocolate malt----- and man! I got some chest pains and a coughing fit. So I can sympathize. (grin)

I would go visit a doctor Danielle and get them to hear your chest for crackles etc. Sounds like your flu may have given you a chest infection and you may need antibiotics. Are you coughing anything up?

Cold weather was REALLY hard for me to deal with the first year of recovery. Stack a good cold/flu/bug on top of that and it would have put me out of commission for a while, for sure. I mean, yeah, double-check with your doc, but it does sound pretty standard for this kind of thing, especially when your lungs already aren't in top form.

I would have gone to the doctor, had the fever and really nasty symptoms lasted more than a few days, but I do feel better.

I woke up often last night, either unable to stop coughing or unable to cough (that was scary), but feel tons better today: most of the congestion is gone and only the cough remains.

It just seems like the symptoms were multiplied ten folds!!

Yeah, that's what I'm still doing, coughing at night, lot of wheezing. Then I feel better during the day. Hang in there!!

I'm feeling a lot better today, but I still have some wheezing. And, yesterday, I was having so much pain in my chest and shoulders!! The stabbing kind of pain I had at diagnosis.

And I still feel sooo light-headed. It feels like this flu has revived all the pains and symptoms from the PEs!!

And I have soo much anxiety it's driving me nuts!

I know, from reading the board, that it takes a long time to heal and that it's pretty much a roller-coaster ride, but it's enough to go crazy!!
