By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

BACK IN CARDIAC CARE UNIT

I am NOT doing so well today. Yesterday (Wed) morning, my legs were all swollen and when the physical therapist got to my house she looked at my legs and said, "oh, thats not good". To make a long story short, she ended up calling my doctor and she told me to go to the emergency room asap. I now have new clots in both legs!!!! I was admitted again into the Cardiac Care Unit. Can anyone please explain to me, how in the world my INR can be therapudic ay 2.8 yet I now have new clots in both legs????? What can I expect now or in the future? I sure wish the doctor would hurry up and come in.

IT IS POSSIBLE EVEN WITH YOUR INR AT 2.8. THOSE CLOTS WERE MORE THAN LIKELY ALREADY THER AND FLOATING AROUND YOUR LEGS SOMEWHERE. WHEN THEY BLOCKED A VIEN IN YOUR LEGS, GOT STUCK YOUR LEGS SWELLED. THANK GOD THEY DID SO NOW THEY CAN ADDRESS IT CORECTLY, PERHAPS A SCREEN OR FILTER??? AT LEAST THEY FOUND THEM BEFORE U HAD ANOTHER PE CAUSE WE ALL KNOW THAT IS NO WALK IN THE PARK. GOD BLESS AND FEEL BETTER!

I think we have some members that have clotted while "thearaputic" so hopefully they will chime in with some of their experiences. As for me, I am very grateful they were caught before they moved into your lungs. Hang in there!!

I think Bugsy66 is right. There are members that clotted while in the 2-3 range. I would push for testing to see if you have a clotting disorder. The hospital did run what they could...and when I go off coumadin this fall. We will run the rest of the test. I would make sure they run what the can now.

Sorry this is happening. I know some people need to be at a higher therapuetic level, so maybe that's what will happen with you going forward. They're sure they're new clots? Or any chance the clots could have happened when you weren't therapuetic? Let us know what your docs are saying is going on.

    We all have 24 hours in a day.  How we spend these hours is important.  Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do.  Gonna have to work on that.Your turn.  Tell me another truth.
