Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

YEP!!!!! I am once again in the hospital!
The odds are definitely running against me. April 15th, fell and broke my right tibula and severely sprained my left ankle. I was bed ridden after that.
May 1st I was diagnosed with a SADDLE pulmunary embolism. Doctors say that I had DVT's below the knee and one traveled to my lungs and almost killed me. But supposedly, clots below the knees NEVER (or seldomly) are able to travel to the lungs. THEY DID ON ME!!!
Then I had some more weird symptoms on April 16th and was admitted back into the hospital.
Then a couple of weeks ago both of my legs were very swollen! I went into ER, the docs did a doppler and lo and behold!!!!! I had NEW DVT's in BOTH legs!! Now mind you, I had been theraputic on Warfarin for over 2 months at 2.6-2.8 range. Supposedly, you are NOT suppose to be able to get new clots while you are theraputic on Coumadin. BUT, I GOT NEW DVT'S!!!!
I have been fighting off a head cold all week but all of a sudden today, I got the same severe chest pains and SOB that I had the first time I was rushed into the hospital on May 1st and was diagnosed with a SADDLE pulmunary embolism. I told my friend that I needed to go to ER quickly!!! After some quick explaining, off we went! ER docs ran a chest and head CT and I now have a NEW PE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My INR was just done earlier and it was 2.3. My Coumedin dosages are now 7.5mg on Mon, Wed & Fri and the other days I take 10mg. I am also taking 15,000 in a shot of Fragmin. Soooooo.......supposedly you should not be able to get NEW PE'S on all these blood thining meds.
BUT, NOT I HAVE NEW PE'S!!!!!!!
WHY AND HOW CAN ALL THIS BE HAPPENING TO ME???????" I really really try to remain positive but a person can only take so much!!!!!!!!!!

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Take care and I will be thinking of you.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Positve thoughts going your way.
This just goes to show that anything can happen and meds don't always fully protect you. That really scares me.
HUGS and PRAYERS that you get better quick and this is the last of your problems.
Hoping you recover soon,
Chris
