When I had my PE, I had constant shortness of breath but no pain. After diagnosis is when I started having pain.

Just so you know, I was sick a few weeks ago and since then, I've had so much shortness of breath and chest heaviness. My doc says my lungs are irritated from drainage and the humidity and allergies are making it worse. I have an inhaler to use as needed right now and he prescribed a nasal spray to dry up my constraint drainage running down the back of my throat.

I was going to ask my doctor for an inhaler but was unsure if it'd work for this. Does it work pretty well?

I think inhalers have different usages, depending on what they are treating. If you've got asthma or are sick, they might help. With regular SOB from PE healing, I'm not really sure.

I definitely had SOB come and go up until about 11 months after diagnosis. Weather (hot/cold/humid) could set it off, but so could cleaning fumes, extra activity, fighting a cold, etc.

Try not to let it freak you out. You can talk to your doc about an inhaler, for sure, but I don't think you're in a situation where you need to head to the ER at all.

Yeah the inhaler I have is not related to my PE; it's because sometimes when I get sick or my allergies are super bad, my chest get wheezy. So I use it only when I'm really struggling and even then, sometimes I don't bother because the sob and wheezing tends to not be constant.

Mines on and off multiple times a day especially when I'm moving around. I'm stuffy and I think my allergies are playing a part in it. My nose has been runny and stuffy.

I agree with what the others are saying here, and the past few days, in fact, I've been having a lot of trouble breathing and feel very wheezy too. It's even been a little more constant than really coming and going, but I'm absolutely certain it's the weather down where I am. And even when I'm just in my house, there is a change from normal; if I go outside, it's just like forget it, I'm a mess. But we actually have a heat advisory right now, which surprisingly we very rarely get, even when it is quite hot. For my breathing, there's just a big difference from normal, and I've been feeling like I need an inhaler, even though I don't normally use one. But they gave me one after my PE, and to be honestly it did absolutely nothing for me with the recovery SOB, but when the air quality got bad it would make a difference for me. It's like if nothing else it kind of breaks up congestion in my chest and gives some relief. I never in my life used an inhaler before PE, and I don't usually need one now, but I think there is a change since PE where my lungs are just more sensitive to hot, humid air. What you're experiencing right now seems like it's probably the same thing.
