Seems pretty normal to me. Sometimes there is a fair bit of vein damage due to the clots, so its normal you should get a bit of pain.

I had the same feeling. Pain in my thigh and my doctor sent me to the ER. Scan showed no clotting. The ER doctor said it was residue pain. I keep saying, I am scared of myself. I thought I knew my body. I had pain in my thigh and was going to call the doctor that day but I had a massive PE that knocked me out.

I am always questioning the pains I feel. I have friends and family who are now concerned with their pains from my experience.

It is really a balancing act between understanding that some pains are normal or completely unrelated to clots and also making sure we get suspicious pains checked out. As time goes on, you will get a better feel for it. Just remember that getting a suspicious pain checked out isn't a bad thing and if it turn out to be nothing it doesn't mean you did something wrong by getting it checked out.

I've had 2 ultra sounds since my PE 18 months ago. Both were negative, but there was something about the pain that made me decide to get it checked out. But i also have plenty of other weird pains. I just try to keep an eye on it and also remember that I have had odd pains throughout my life and they weren't clots either.

Yep yep yep, agree with what everyone else has said. 2 years out and I still get "aches" in the DVT leg, but I don't have any evidence of new clots. But yes, even after 2 years it makes me take pause.

Honestly, I'd be surprised if you didn't feel anything in the leg that had clots at only one month out. I had aches and pains in my DVT leg up until about two years out, although sounds like mine was a LOT more painful than yours.

Hang in there! If you've got questions, check with your doc. In the meantime, keep it elevated when you can to help out with that.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this. I'm just concerned that the pain is coming from the clot moving or something. Right now I'm leveling off at around 2.2 on the Warfarin. I feel like I'm walking in a Mine Field! Other than the pain in my leg, I feel OK. There is some pain in my chest which comes and goes throughout the day.

At some point in your recovery you may get a fresh scan on the affected leg. They may find chronic damage, which is really nothing more than what some accident victims deal with. Often there is damage to the delicate valves of the veins, which are sometimes described as being like butterfly wings. Sometimes after VTEs they may be fully functional, partly functional, practically gone, or they may just kind of flap around with the flow. Mild pain, swelling, warmth to touch, redness, and some other symptoms may be associated with an easily manageable condition known as Post Thrombotic Syndrome (PTS). With the advice of your physician, it may be prudent to start wearing compression socks at this early stage.

This is some really good information. Thanks. More2be, are you running now? I probably will not run any more. Maybe walking will be my thing now. At one time, running was my life. I breathed, slept, ate, and worked running. Running just seems kind of hard on the body. I don't know. Getting these clots has really turned my life around in more ways than one.........Thanks for the info.
