Psoriasis is an immune-mediated disease which affects the skin and joints. When it affects the skin it commonly appears as red scaly elevated patches called plaques. Psoriasis plaques frequently occur on the elbows and knees, but can affect any area of skin including the scalp and genital area. Psoriasis can also cause inflammation of the joints. This is known as...
The psoriasis on my scalp isn't too bad, so i use regular old shampoo, i just let the conditioner sit on for a few minutes. I use regualar body wash too. As far as moisturizers, i LOVE Nivea. It just does a good job in my opinion, and the moisturizing effects last for awhile. I also use Amcinonide...it is a topical steroid cream. It is prescription, so you would have to talk to your doc about that one. Good luck, and sorry i couldn't be of more help than that!
Sometimes I use the shampoo for psoriais that you can get over the counter. I use it on my skin in the shower, use it as a soap. It helps me some, it stinks though. I just rinse it off to get that smell away. It is not too costly either. Good luck..

I am a customer of a company called Melaleuca that has tons of awesome natural health care products and cleaning products and stuff so I have use their soap, shampoos and Renew lotion which is awesome and even laundry soaps but you can go the health store and buy products there as well. If you can find goats milk soap I love that it's very moisturizing (sounds weird I know). If you can find products with no fragrance or colours etc. added then try buying some tea tree oil and adding some to say your shampoo which will help a lot with scalp psoriasis or add it to your body lotion it's great in that as well. Personally I don't wear perfumes or nail polishes etc. anymore as I have found they can make my spots worse as well.
I first got psoriases about 10 yrs ago. When i got it it was all over my legs and arms and on my scalp. It took about 7 yrs to find something that actually worked. I do still get it on my ears, elbows and eyebrows however it's not very noticeable as long as i keep it moisturized. I found a cream at a local farmers market, i believe it was called Avignon... it's made out of rose petals. I think it's sold out of Kelowna BC Canada. I do not order it anymore so i'm sorry i don't have their contact info. After that helped clear things up i was prescribed Dovobet topical ointment by my dermatologist. It works wonders for me. Other than that i get lots of sun and that seems to help too although may not be too safe :)
That doesn't mean it isn't worth a go, you may well get the same results as me the first time, and hopefully your remission would be longer.
I had been dx. with psoriasis when I was a kid, hmmm like 45 years ago. I do ok with using Aveeno body wash, no perfume, and I watch out for any perfume added to any of my body, face creams. Like Skinderella, my scalp is not bad right now, I have in the past had it in my scalp and I would buy the shampoo for it, but right now I use a mild shampoo and I leave the conditioner on for a few extra minutes, plus I deep condition monthly.
I use Dovenex and Elocom 0.1% corticosteroid cream when I first notice the bumps or even at the first itch, before I see any thing.
I have had three bad flares in my life, and right now, it the worse it's ever been.
Not sure what to do, and not do at this time.
Need to think logical, but it is so hard when your in pain.
Hope everyone a nice day.
Gentle hugs, Sherrall
Hoping you all are having a good weekend.
