Is this Psoriasis or not?

Ok. My husband has had sever Psoriasis for over ten years now. His spots came out when he was in his early twenties. It spread very quickly. About a month ago I noticed it had started to surface in the eyebrows of my son who has autism. That really upset me. But tonight my oldest son who is 14 came to me and asked me to look at his scalp. He had a long red line that looked like a burn from a curling iron across his forehead where his hair line is. He said he has had it for few months and seems to not go away. It doesn't itch though and is slowly spreading. He has suffered from dandriff for many years now and this long red spot is where his dandfriff flakes seemed to always be. But it doesn't look the same as it did. When it was dandriff it flaked. This is just extremely red and runs along his hair line. What really concrns me is that it has not gone away for several months and is spreading. But it isn't itchy. Can anyone help me out?I have no clue what this is.

yeah take him 2 the gp...when my skin gets bad i get it along my hair line in my eyebrows and on my forehead

Please read about my history of psoriasis - 28 years of suffering. I got off the medications after all those years, because they will damage the liver. Recently, I found something that has really helped to reduce the redness, the scaling and the itching.

The plaques from psoriasis are thick, red and scally. Sometimes the skin flakes off like normal dandruff flakes, and other times, it's thick, almost scab like, depending on the irritation. Various things can irritate it and make it worse.

My dermatologist made by diagnosis. Back then, there was nothing really out there that could treat it. Now, there are several different methods, like Methotrexate and others in shot form.

I didn't realize it but my many years of insomnia were caused mostly by my psoriasis. Once I had it under control, my sleep improved greatly. I had just learned to live with the itch and irritation so long that it was "normal" to me.

another suggestion is to use the scalp shampoo that several of the people on this board with scalp psoriasis use. i'm not sure what it is called, but i think it has worked for them. if you can't go to the doctor (i dont think this shampoo is prescription), you could maybe try the shampoo and see if it has any effect on his scalp.

About shampoos... I recently was talking to a hairdresser who said when she told her clients with psoriasis to stop using shampoos with sulfites, they had incredible recovery on their scalps. More than one client had amazing results. Make sure you read the labels of the shampoos you are using.

Hello I have with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, my body was 90% covered by painful bleeding leiching leisions since I was a child.
