so i have psoriasis over my whole scalp, on my left knee, both my elbows, my private areas, and im just now starting to get some behind my right ear and in my belly button. i've had the psoriasis since i was like 10. im 22 now, and its getting REALLY old. i use elocon but i want to know whats out there that is better.

Hi Katielynn,

I have had psoriasis since i was about 20, and i have it in nearly all of the same places that you do. It mostly mild, but definitely annoying. I am currently using Talconex and hydrocortizone. I can only use one at a time, and once a day. If i use them anymore that once per day, i will get allergic reactions, such as shortness of breath, tight chest, swollen ankles, knees, nose, mouth, etc. So if you decide to try these, please be careful when using them. How well does elocon work?

i've been using the elocon since i was little, so its obviously worked, but i think i might be getting immune because its not working as well as it used to.

I went to an arthritis doctor and they put me on Embrel, which worked good, but had a seizure and they changed it to Humira. I hate the shot effect of Humira but love the results. I had it bad, but now only have a few spots. I also use Dovonex, the ointment and it works good as well. They are rather expensive, but if you have insurance, you can get the shots for like $5 a month.

Hi there katielynn08~

I have had Psoriasis since I was about 17, 32 now. I used the Elocon years ago, it worked great with the spots on my face would didn't help the rest of my body. At the time that I used Elocon on my face, I was using Dovonex on my body. But honestly couldn't stand the Dovenex, it was to greasy for me. The best thing I have ever used has been Enbrel. The shot was the worst part, other than that it kept me clear and almost made me forget that I even had Psoriasis. Then the insurance changed and it became more than I could afford.

I am currently in a Clinical Trial Study. It is for Apremilast, in a pill form. Of course right now it is still a study medicine and it is a double blind study, so at this point I could be taking the actual medicine itself or just be taking a placebo pill. At this point, I haven't seen amazing results so I'm thinking I may be taking placebo and the sun is just helping my exposed areas the most. "Who Knows"

I made a post the other day on Glycerin, a lot of people have had some really good results if they were continuous for about a month with applying it. If your plaques are not severe, maybe it wouldn't take that long. Could be worth a try. I bought a bottle of it, I just haven't been that consistent with applying it. It is kinda greasy/sticky feeling and I hate the feeling or the greasy products, so maybe that's why I can't stick to applying it daily or twice daily.
