Was first diagnosed with Psoriasis about ten years ago. Was pretty bad but because i was so young it didn't bother me too much...used tar treatments and then went on holiday....coming back with clear skin and remianed clear for about 9 years until last August when i got Glandular Fever (August 2006). This has caused my Psoriasis to flare up and is worse than ever. With no response to creams i was refered to a Dermatologist who sent me for a 30 block of Phototherapy sessions (March 2007-May 2007)...cleared up my arms/back and face but had no effect what so ever on my legs. 3 weeks after stopping the treatments...little patches have reappeared on my arms and back but are kept at bay with Dovobet...but again no effect on my legs. At the moment i am trying a natural cream...Oregon Grape Root...no results as of yet. Anyone have any suggestions?!?!?!

i have tryed loads too and it just doesnt go even the sun does nothing for mine been on 3 holidays this year and wont help your lucky ther like but no phototherpy helped my tummy psoriasis but not my arms or legs...i need help to find a cure to let me no!!!! :(

have you tried looking into enbrel? or a trip to the dead sea. there is so much stuff out there, i think that is hwat i hate most about having it. it seems to adapt to what you do and do not use.

Hiya Claire. Psoriasis is such a frustrating disease. I was born with it and really noticed it when I was in 4th grade. According to most of the dermatoligists I have gone to, I have one of the worst cases they have ever seen. Sun and salt water(the beach) do seem to help mine. I have recently started Enbrel and it is my miracle drug. It is very costly and does affect your immune system They are figuring out psoriasis is an autoimmune deficiency. I have info on assistance with obtaining Enbrel if it is too expensive or you are uninsured. Good luck and feel free to contact me.

Never heard of enbrel until i joined this website. Had a look at it...seems there are many side effects tho....?

i agree with leibug, you should try it, plus if you compare some other side effects for example, methotrexate then you would think enbrel is like regular asprin lol. i wish you luck claire.

Hey Clair, I have had Psoriasis for 20 years. It have in many places however the toughest for me is my knees and elbows. I was on Enbrel and it does work however I became very scared while using it for one year plus because this drug has not been out long enough to know the long term effects on the immune system. My doctor recently put me on Verdeso and it works pretty good. What I liked about it is that is NOT an ointment it's a foam like hair mousse. I also do go to the tanning salon which has helped through all these years. Good Luck

The things that work for me is cream called Pau D'Arco. You can find it at health food stores. There is als a tea by the same name but it brings the psorisis out of your body to rid you of it permantely. I also am trying this juice called Ningxia Red. The juice something everyone should take because its full of everything a body needs and things people probably will never take in their lifes. Creams never worked for me but this Pau D'Arco stuff does but mine isn't as severe as what you describe.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
