But from my point of view: Vit D deficiency is linked to IIH, but Vit D deficiency is linked to pretty much everything because we just never knew we were pretty much all deficient. (unless you live in a sunshine state and enjoy the outdoors). Raising it up to normal has several general health benefits, but because the deficiency is across the population i dont feel its correction will effect IIH - just my gut feeling.
However my Dad who is 67 also separately noticed he was vit D deficient (and doesnt have IIH) did say that getting his levels up to normal did wonders for his sort term memory - so that might be worth considering for other benefits.
I am sure there are physical cognitive effects due to pressure on the brain. Then there are the physiological effects of trying to process thoughts through pain. Then there is also known cognitive slowing from drugs such as topamax. Its no wonder we can end up pouring juice onto a plate instead of a cup, or staring into the fridge having forgotten what we opened the door for.
Vit D MIGHT help you, but all those symptoms of mine were a lot worse when my pressure was high and my pain levels were constantly over 6/10. I havent come off the topamax or taken any vit D and my cognitive processes are a million times better then what they were. BUT we are all different and maybe if I had taken vit D, the process of lowering my pressure and improving my cognitive ability might have been faster for me??? its all trial and error.
Its a winding road Aim, but every step helps. Xx
