Since a lot of us have memory issues, I think maybe it could be a good idea if we shared different tools/exercises we all use to keep our memory sharp! Things you do, games you play, ways you remind yourself of something, etc...
I have two that I will share that really help me...they are both games. They are both on Facebook and also can be downloaded as an app on your phone.
Words With Friends - Basically a modern day Scrabble. It is fantastic at helping you remember words you may have temporarily forgotten and all!
SongPop - This one is also fun...you play against someone (can be a friend or a random person) and you are given four choices (either an artist/band name or a song name) and you are able to listen to a clip...the idea is to pick the correct song/artist/band as quickly as possible. There are five that come in one game. You also get to choose the genres you play...there are 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's, rock, country, jazz, classical, dance, R&B, etc...I play this a lot and it is really fun, addictive, and kind of just refreshes your memory!

My husband does crosswords and has for years but I've just never been able to get into them :(
Want another Words friend? I play all the time and my mom and I and husband and I finish about a game a day. My mom kicks my ass almost every time!

I have played with my mom a lot...I usually beat her, haha. :) We play SongPop a lot now. Time flies when we play that! (We live in the same house, but it's so fun! lol)
I have never been able to get into crosswords either! I like word searches, but they are not as tricky.
Here's to hoping the damage is not permanent!
I forget words in the middle of sentences, frequently forget what subject I'm speaking about, forget names of everyday objects, colors, you name it. The most frustrating thing is forgetting how to write a simple sentence. I now find myself mixing past tense with present tense, writing things backwards (for example instead of saying, "I am walking my dog", my mind says, "My dog, I am walking". I spend way too much time trying to proofread everything...it takes 10 times longer and I don't have that kind of time. What to do, what to do?!?!
Lately I've been playing lots of Bingo on Facebook. It really helps with focus and concentration - the more cards you play, the more focus you'll need. Also, "time management" and timed "hidden object" games help with focus, memory, speed and accuracy. I really believe if you don't use it, you'll loose it. IIH has taken enough so I'm desperately trying to hang onto whatever I can.
