Thanks for the advice!
Excellent advice above for drinking water. Don't eat salt. Try not to eat out. Cook all your own food from scratch. If you have to buy prepared food go to the heart healthy department if your store has one. Or just look on the shelves. Get low salt everything. (even those are high salt!) Start reading labels.
Home cooking - I cut up some veggies and put it with some "neat" in a mesh stir fry pan on the grill. Fast, easy. Everything tastes good on the barbeque and there's almost no cleanup. If I must have some carbs I make a little quinoa.
