Ok, so I admit it. Sometimes I peruse other IIH/PTC online forums. But, I swear I never cheat on you guys! I only post here. :) Anyway, I wanted to share this positive post, because I can relate to what this woman is saying. I constantly look for stories of people with positive outcomes and they're hard to find even though I know they exist. Here's hoping one day we can all put these symptoms behind us!!!

"I am a 36 year old mother of two who was diagnosed with IIH in the spring of 2009. It was by far the most frightening time of my life when the doctors discovered the papilledema and had to rule out all the scary possible causes of it before diagnosing IIH. I was put on Diamox and was told that weight loss may help. It was the easiest 35 lbs I ever lost because I was so desparate to be able to DO something to take control back of my life. Although I am not convinced that my weight had anything to do with it (because I wasn't very overweight to being with) needless to say, I am thrilled to have lost that baby weight that I had been carrying around for a few years past the birth of my second (and last!) baby :)
After my diagnosis I set out online to find others who had the condition as well. I found many forums and support groups with tons of info and stories from others. As relieved as I was to find that I wasn't alone, what I really was looking for were stories from people who had the disorder, were treated and then recovered and went back to a normal life. My neurologist and neuro-opthalmalogist assured me that there are many, but I wanted to hear their stories and connect with them to give me hope. I vowed that if I recovered from IIH that I would join one of these forums and share my story. Well, here I am, 15 months later seemingly recovered. I know that it may come back, but for now, my discs are clear, my blind spots normal, headache free, and I have been completely off Diamox since the spring. So, bottom line: have faith. A year from now life might be back to normal with the only thing missing being 35lbs of baby weight :)"

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I , am so much better than I was. Still have problems but I am so much more able to deal with them. Yes, ladies and gents, it can and does get better!Cath..
