I'm so sorry about your Uncle. I would like to say that a couple of years ago, there was a high incidence of MRSA and 2 of my children, my husband, my mother and my niece all contracted it. All of them got through it fine once they got through an intensive course of antibiotics (it is highly resistent, so you have to get the right one.) Now, they didn't have the severe health problems that your uncle has and I know that is what's critical to his prognosis. But, I just wanted to share with you that MRSA alone doesn't always cause death or permanent injury. Your family is in my thoughts.

I don't want to sound negative but I don't think this would hold in a court. MRSA is spread easily when a person's immune system is down. Your uncle's was definitely down. He could have gotten it simply by touching a doorknob that someone else had touched.

So in all honesty my advice on this one would be not to sue at all. You would need REALLY good lawyers and even then probably end up paying more for the lawyers than the courts would award you anyway.

Plus this regular kidney dialysis'. He already has Android amputated leg. The infection is the worst in that leg. Has a terrible infection in the other leg. I got MRSA a few years ago. I have no idea how, but you can contract it from the grocery cart ...and the bacteria lives in your nose believe it or not. When I first got it I thought I had been bitten by a spider. The doctor thought so too! to make a long story short... If it is not treated it won't go away.. I was put on a high dose of Bactrim and that did the trick.. Contracting it in the hospital can be more severe since the immune system is already low...and the strains in the hospital can be stronger..as long as it doesn't get into his blood stream he should recover fine. Prayers to your Uncle...and you.

Let's hope. There is one place they can not treat. But as I said. He is already a very ill man. Who has nearly no natural immune system.

My son contracted MRSA when he was 1 week old. His was considered environmental MRSA not hospital MRSA. There are tests that they do and cultures to determine what antibiotics best work against the strain. I was convinced he still got MRSA from his circumcision even though they told me otherwise. I was also scared becasue the only thing I had ever heard about MRSA was that you die from it. Let me clue you in, NOT everyone dies from MRSA. It can be very scary, yes, but it can ve very treatable with the right antibiotics. Everybody has staff living on their skin, including MRSA. When they culture the MRSA they determine what meds will kill it. I pray your uncle is ok. But you for your IIH should not stress about your uncle. I know it is easier said than done, but you have to take care of yourself too.

Yes I know. When I stress I feel worse,my anxiety worsens and its like a chain reaction. I feel worse then anxiety then I feel even wotse and because of that mote anxiety and so on. He is the closest thing to a father I have has my whole life. And I know he will not reach 40 even if we get past MRSA. This has just been a rough last six months. So much as to I even failed this semester of school. I just hope next year gets better

I just wantex to update incase anyone was curious. My uncle with MRCA. It has found its way to his blood stream. So it is no longer just a skin problem.
