I can't answer the Diamox question but if you do get an answer if love to know for future use should I ever need it.
My second LP was the one that gave me the low pressure headache much like you described. I think mine lasted 4 or 5 days but they never told me how long to wait. Mine was the same as yours not so bad I couldn't handle it but definitely not something I wanted to endure! I hope it stops soon for you!

They say it can take up to a week for the leak to close off. I may not be the best at answering this question because I had a csf leak after my LP shunt was removed. I was dealing with high pressure headaches and a leak (low pressure). I had a blood patch five days after the removal of the shunt. It hurt worse than the LP itself, but after the blood patch I felt so much better. I was back to having to having high pressure.
I would stay on the diamox unless your neuro tells you to do so, weening off of diamox can be tricky and should be done slowly. I second you calling your neuro. It is a pain to have a low pressure headache. I am sorry you got stuck with one. :( if it were really bad I would say go t the ER, but you may need towait it out until next Wednesday before getting it patched. It may just take that long to heal itself back up.
My advice is to just keep doing what you are doing. Lie down as long as you possible can and drink caffeine.

They made me wait 4 days before placing a blood patch and bc I had it my NO kept me off diamox for a few weeks.
I'd ask your doctor that monitors our PTC about the diamox

I would definitely call your doctor. Low pressure hurts and is miserable. Was it done in an ER or by your NS? I had a real botch job of an LP once by a resident, 3 or 4 pokes, bloody mess. I could not get a patch because I was under so much stress I broke out in shingles. The hospital therefore would not do a patch for fear of introducing shingles into my spinal fluid and brain. Long story short, it was 9 days in the hospital laying flat with pain. It can last a long time if it will not clot on its own. I had a friend that had an on-going problem with a leak and several patches. Most discharge paperwork states that if you have a headache the next day to call the doctor.

Ended up going to the ER today. I'm just tired of suffering and waiting it out. My headache is actually wierd because the biggest source of my pain is my neck. It's fine when I lie down, but within a few minutes of being upright it hurts so severely. The doctor at the ER said that was a little odd since its usually more of a headache but agreed that it was related to low pressure since it stops when I lay down and said I needed a blood patch. but, he wanted to push IV fluids first.

The nurse was an idiot. She tried to do an IV in my hand and pretty much botched it and blew out the vein. Then, she finally got it in my other arm but had to draw blood first and got blood everywhere. All over the sheets. There were drops on the floor and on the wall. It looked like a crime scene!

After being there for four hours they told me the anesthesiologist would be a few more hours since they were backed up and under staffed. So, we decided to leave and have the blood patch done tomorrow as an out patient procedure. It's scheduled for the morning. I'm so frustrated and I just want to start feeling better. I hope I will at least get to enjoy a little bit of time before my pressure builds up again! Oh, and the doctor said stop the Diamox until after the patch.
