How very nice that you found this information, yet sad that your doc or pharmacist didn't do something already to rule out any medication you were taking as a contributing factor to your pain or symptoms. I was in the same boat with nitrofurantoin. I used to take a prescription antihistamine eye drop just during the worst of my spring allergies, and once the doc changed up the brand (it had some difference ingredients), and it made my head hurt and even my eyes seemed to get bothered rather than comforted although the redness and allergy eye symptoms were relieved. I asked the pharmacist about it (less than one week into the new drops), and he said that those are some associated side-effects for some people. So, I called the doc back and got a new prescription that was for my old drops. Now, I use an all natural eye drop for allergy eyes and the dry eye drops all during the year, usually just two drops before bedtime. I no longer take nitrofurantoin either but as alternative as necessary that has headache as a side effect as more rare.

We must be diligent in being assertive with our docs regarding finding safer alternatives for any necessary medications if such is available. They go into their default mode and prescribe the most familiar drug to them, etc., and we must get them to consider our unusual condition and how medications can affect us. I double check on my own and with the pharmacist as well.

I have put this link up before and it lists steroid withdrawal but it states that it cant cover everything - i wonder if there is a stronger link to steroids in general then just steroid withdrawal...

for instance how many of us used things like 1% steroid creams for eczema etc for years that we havent thought about? i know i did and the docs havent seemed interested...

I am totally interested KerenC!!! I am thinking there is a link but after not having symptoms for 3 days.....I got stressed and the swishing in my ear came back this am :( but still no double vision....which is nice that at least I can drive without feeling like I could hurt someone......
