i'm trying little changes to make big changes so good luck
As for the gas did you try gas x? haha it used to be my best friend
I think 145 might be a little low for you right now, your pretty tall! That's my goal weight and I'm 5'4"! I usually have more success if if I set small goals and when you meet it you set the next one. Like 1 or 2 pounds a week. Then it is easier to pat yourself on the back each week you make it because the goal isn't so far away and seem so daunting. Right now I'm 161 and I've lost weight this year just from being so sick. I will have to really be careful to not start indulging if this surgery is successful and I start feeling better. I have one of those tall skinny husbands that can eat anything :(
I say this because I used to weigh 213lbs when I was diagnosed. Got down to 205lbs in two weeks due to Diamox. I then started a special diet, umber a doctor, and lost a total of 40lbs or so.
It's very demoralizing to think of yourself as "being too heavy". It makes be sad too :( you are not alone..
Hugs,
Mallory
All I want to suggest is that you absolutely DO NOT DIET!! Dieting is the worst thing you can do to your body, and it is never more than a temporary solution with a lot of very negative consequences. Try instead to cut back on things that aren't good for you (sugary drinks, fried foods... you know the drill) and pick one activity you would be happy to step up to increase your level of physical activity. The weight will come off the smart way and you will be so much better off for having done it this way.
I removed all dairy and meat and became a Vegan. I have no processed foods (Dr. Oz says to avoid: enriched wheat flour (it's in everything bread-y), high fructose corn syrup, (in everything) trans fat, fat and sugar. When I first did this a few years ago, just avoiding these five ingredients (before my thyroid condition) I lost 55lbs, just from removing those processed, OVER-processed, ingredients. Now, I am raw vegan, but I know that's hard for lots of people to do.
Something interesting, though that I would like to tell you all about: Since going raw vegan, losing weight (14lbs this summer so far), when I tell my doctors how I eat now, there is a new found respect. Two doctors actually said that there are medications for headaches, but "You won't take them because of your lifestyle", which made me realize how doctors view a patient who takes control of nutrition.
I say I am vegan and that gives me tons of choices, even though it gives me some guidelines, no animal products whatsoever and no dairy at all. (My skin looks amazing.) I cannot tell you how great I feel and how my blood work is amazing.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your words!
I am eating very much more healthy now. As in about five small meals a day instead of just the once I used to eat! Today, I ate a bowl of healthy cereal, Special K breakfast crisp bar (they are so good!!!!), I ate some fruit, and then tonight I ate a small salad, a small baked potato and a small piece of meat. And only been drinking water basically!
Okay, so four today...but I feel better eating this way. I have lost five pounds in the past week and that is amazing to me...almost down to 200 pounds! You were all right about setting smaller goals. Thank you for that advice. I am also getting my mom in on my diet plans. She is not as good at is as me, though. ;)
