I have been in remission a little over four months now. When I hit a year of remission, I sure as hell will celebrate!

In some respects the year has gone quickly but in others I feel like it's been forever.
I am working on the weight loss now. I never lost a pound and went into remission! Granted my PTC did not go away on it's own, I still am pain free. I actually gained weight in the process (eek!) and I couldn't even hardly eat for over a year of it! So weird...
Anyhow...again, thank you, lady. :)
I held on to the denial phase for a long time, but after my short-lived success with stent surgery reversed, I've lost hope in medical resolution. I'm now just holding on to see how much hearing and vision I have left by the time I hit menopause and hope that it's most of what I've got now.
Instead of a wine for happy hour, I'll drink my water, and instead of a fancy dinner, I'll take my seven nightly pills and deal with one more IH day.
I find myself in state of depression even though I don't really think I'm depressed. It's hard to explain. My actions are those of a depressed person but my mind refuses to believe that I am. I've become two different people since diagnosis. The one my coworkers see and the one I am after 5:00. When I'm at work, I'm me. My work keeps me focused and I love my job. When I'm home, I can't get outta bed. I literally lay in bed until it's time to go back to work.
A year ago, I was a great mom. I worked, I came home and cooked for my kids, and I was involved in my kids lives. Now I feel like I have given them free range. I want to fix this but I don't know how. The only bright side is that I have great kids. It's so many ways they could exploit this but they haven't. They are raising themselves the way I started even though I haven't been able to finish it.
Anyway, I'm dreading it. I went from a totally normal person- wife, mother, employee- to a train wreck. I just wish I could be better for my children. I don't even care about myself anymore.
So yeah, I'm not planning anything special. Still holding out hope that I'll be cured by then. Lol.
