Implanted ICP monitor

I am studying veterinary medicine and we were just discussing brain trauma and other neurological disorders, one of which included increased cranial pressure. I ran across this statement and couldn't help but think I wonder what this could mean for people with our condition if it ever made it into the human world.
"Recently, an implantable solid-state sensor that reliably measures ICP for months has been reported in experimental studies using dogs."

So... What I'm hearing is that they've done more extensive research on dogs than on us. Don't get me wrong, I'm a dog person--I have two & I adore them-- but, REALLY?

LOL I totally understand. I am not even sure what country it was researched in or used in, the journal article did not say so it may not have been the US. It is frustrating but it seems a lot of human medicine gets its start in animal medicine first. I am not sure if this is a monitor which they can read when ever they want or if it is something they implant leave in for months and then take out and read or how it works, it was very brief in it talking about it because it was not the focus of the article. Either way I think it would be relatively neat, even if it just monitored it for a few months it might show trends and better help us learn what our triggers are by pinpointing a certain time of day that it increased
It is my understanding that dogs do not suffer from IIH like we do; their ICP seems to be from trauma or true brain tumors, but who knows really, they can't tell us when they have a headache!
