Hey nice to see you, sorry about all the stress you're experiencing. Im no expert but I can share what my daughter experiened with her Prolactinomia and Cushings. Elevated prolactin and cortisol, male pattern hair growth, irregular menstruation to include multiple periods a month., massive weight gain, she stopped growing, her body shape changed, and after many mri's her pituitary was fattened and stalk was bent, with microadenoma. She was severly depressed, slept all the time, and exhausted.

Thanks for the welcome back Mary. :) the description of your daughter seems to be fitting of me lately. I pray we are finding it fast. And we can get it under control.

With the stress in my life at the moment and the weather constantly changing here... my PTC is completely messed up. I work on the nuero floor and im sure if I went to the ER right now my doc would admit me but I just don't wont my friends taking care of me. I'm being stubborn and just not going.

you need to get some accommodations at work, to reduce your hours. go to your doctor and get a note saying you cannot work more than 8 hours in a day. if you are a nurse then I'm sure they can do something to adjust your shifts. you really shouldn't be working like this, at all. when I first got sick I wouldn't stop either, I dragged myself through the days. it's not helping the situation. I am very chemically sensitive and just proved that the chemicals increase my ICP. the worst one for me was Lysol spray, and I worked in healthcare also and got slammed with it all the time. you may also be reacting to these things but you can't tell if you are always there and you are "masked". you need a break from it.

Hi soccergirl. I'm new on here. My 14 yr old granddaughter was recently dx'd with PTC. Yes, you do have so much stress going on and your work days are waaaay too long for you right now. I can understand you not wanting your co-workers to be the ones taking care of you right now. But somehow you have to find a way to take proper care of yourself and get the help you need. You are worth it.
Its been a really terrible winter here too, and lots has been going on in my family as well. Granddaughter admitted to hospital on Christmas eve (after 4 consecutive ER visits)...that's when her PTC was dx'd. Then brother had open heart surgery. then my twin sister dx'd w/ squamous cell carcinoma. then best friend died. she lived in the next state over but I couldn't get there for funeral b/c of ANOTHER freaking snow storm. My daughter is divorced w/ 5 children. My husband and I are her primary helpers and her oldest is the one with PTC. Daughter works full time as medical assistant. I'm sure you know that's not enough to support 5 children. Anyway... all that wasn't to make it about me, but just to say that I so understand your feelings of being totally overwhelmed and frightened and sad and anxious. Please take whatever action you can to take care of yourself. you NEED it and it's vitally important. {{{HUGS}}}}

So sorry to hear about all the stress and busyness! I agree, try to find a way to switch to 8 hour shifts, your body just HAS to have more opportunity to heal right now. And really, if need be, it wouldn't be that bad to have your friends take care of you, a brain issue isn't nearly as bad as a GI or GYN problem could be, privacy wise. ;). Sorry to hear about your Cushings, but perhaps now that it has been figured out you can get treated and feel better.

thanks everyone for taking time to read and reply. just got home, showered and ate supper. I'm not a nurse yet... (in nursing school.) Im a secretary, CNA, and I phlebotomist. I see my neuro in a few weeks and ask if I can have a note to switch to 8 hour days.
