I don't believe there is a real pass or fail but I've had visual field tests like that too. Once my pressure goes down there is a return of a lot of white. It can come back.

Yeah, that was a really poor choice of words. According to what I saw of the test results, each eye had significant areas that were darker and marked. I know from before that a blind spot will often show up, but this was more extensive markings than before. Thanks for making sure I cleared that up :-)

I hope you are feeling a little better at this point :)

When you went to the ER, did you mention the difficulties with the field test to the new neuro, or did he have access to the results?
Did he do a decent neuro work up-look at the back of your eye, mention any paps or swelling?

If the Doc had any of this info, and did not do a Spinal Tap, he is a very negligent physician, and he could have some very serious repercussions if your condition worsens over the weekend.

Topamax is not an instant pain killer-take time to build up in your system and usually in incremental doses...starting at 50mg and then bumping up every 1-2 weeks to a maximum dosage of 300 mg. Topamax is great for long term pain management but I am not sure why the ER doc did not RX a fast acting pain med like vicodin, Ultram, Tylenol w/Codine etc...

If you feel your vision is getting worse, do not hesitate to call your regular Doc's on call service...and speak to the Dr on call. Something seems off about your ER care...like it was just left of center..you got a neuro, but no Tap, you got a pain killer, but one that takes 4-6 weeks to kick in....it's all just slightly off. I hate ER's

Anyway, do not worry about having the Dr on call paged. This is your eyesight which is the Biggest thing you can lose with PTC. Don't take the chance..more than likely the on call doc will send orders for a Spinal Tap and real pain killers to your ER and that should help get you through the weekend.

As for what comes next, who knows, just focus on getting through the weekend.
There is no use borrowing trouble :)

Ok, I can definitely tell where foggy brain and pain in the brain should not have met the computer here. I am SO sorry for not making this more clear. When I went to the ER last, I had found out about the vision loss, as far as my prescription being bad, but not about the visual field test. The neuro they called is one I have a new appointment with tomorrow, but he had not seen me before. I agree there's still something not quite right here, but with as foggy headed as I have been I admit to not being on top of things like I should be. Fortunately I have all of my paperwork together, sitting by the door, along with discs and everything else I can think of that I need. At this point, I just need tomorrow to hurry up and get here, while I have enjoyed the long weekend there's got to be a point where someone has an answer to how to get this under some sort of control. :-(

Thanks again, and I appreciate you pointing out that something really isn't right here - I've been second guessing things a lot!
