I have no idea what this med is but tell your doc and do not take again untill you talk to you doc!!

I have the droopy right eye thing. I've actually mentioned before that my husband and mother can tell if my heads bad by the way I look. It almost seems like the right side of my face looks different especially my eye. I have never had the numbness though, except when I was on Diamox. I hope you feel better!

Sorry I just saw your post. Next time this happens you need to go to the ER. Not to scare you but those are classic stroke symptoms you were describing. Next time call 911, make note of what time the symptoms started, what your symptoms are exactly, if you can't talk well then have someone else try to provide as much information as possible. If you are having a stroke the quicker the response time the better you are and if you aren't having one then the odds are you are having what we call "TIA" "mini strokes" or "warning strokes" they usually occur before a massive stroke.

Plz pay close attention everyone to your body. We have a disorder that causes a ton of damage to our brains and can lead to other health issues like strokes so please listen and watch for the warning signs. When in doubt. GO to the ER! Better SAFE then SORRY.

I have also had this happen and stroke has been ruled out, but it still happens occasionally. My neuro thinks it is migraine symptoms, also possibly the high pressure on some of the nerves.
You should go to the ER just in case.

Thanks all for your help. Lortab is the med I take to help the pain when I have a really bad headache.
My MD felt that it was probably pressure on nerves too. He didn't think it was a stroke. I sure hope he was right......he usually is I must say.

I had the same thing off and on for a year before my diagnosis. Checked to see about strokes but none were found through many tests. Hope you feel better. Always get it checked out to make sure though.

If this seems to happen ONLY after taking Lortab then that is not good...it would be a rather strange reaction.

Does your doctor also know of this obscure detail?

It otherwise fits the description of one of a more rare type of migraine whose symptoms include a trigeminal neuralgia or Bells palsy.

Michael is right, my doctor talked about my similar symptoms as possibly being migraine. My face, right side, including the inside of my nose, and teeth, around my eye, all tingle. When it's finally over I feel really weird. Out of it and spacey. Not myself. I've also had a couple episodes where I've thought I may have had a short seizure. The only way I could think to describe it to my husband was like my brain had a short spasm. I didn't think I could do anything but wait for this short spasm to pass. Like a muscle spasm. It was o Lyon seconds I believe. I didn't like it. I think you should talk to you doctor about trying migraine medication. It's worth a shot.

Go to the ER just to be sure, but it sounds like migraine prodome to me. I get the drooping lid, numbness, tingling, staring. Everybody's different but my neuro thinks migraine prodome in my case. I don't understand that diagnosis for staring spells, lost time, and non responsiveness, but then again i'm not a neuro. Look at the symptom list to see how many of us suffer from this.

Thanks all for your comments. I've tried migraine meds and they never have touched the pain. When I have headpain it is almost always the head in a vice feeling and I try to get up and move around - the opposite of a migraine sufferer. Also they aren't always happening with a headache. The droopy eyelid, tingling and the "brain freezes" seem to be happening more often but the droopy lip has only happened a few times and that has always been with a headache. On 1/14 I'm going to my eye doctor for a visual field test and I'm hoping she might have some thoughts on the subject.

Plse see a neuro that specializes in headaches. What you are describing doesn't sound like typical IH or typical migraine by themselves. Most of us in here have more than one type of headache, sometimes at the same time. It takes a headache neurologist or a very dedicated general neuro to sift through the symptoms and get the right diagnosis.
