Hello Everyone,
I had a lp yesterday and my opening pressure was 35 and the closing pressue was 2. When my doc called me last night to go over the results he was surprised that with closing at 2 I did not have a low pressure headache. I told him that I was actually having the whoosing sounds. I told him that I had the low pressure headache right off when they lowered the pressure, but it was gone within 30 mins. Than the whoosing sound came back. Today, I have been resting because of feeling very fatigued. Has anyone exsperience this before,the whoosing sounds so quicky after the lp. The first 2 lp's I had lower pressure headaches for a few days afterwards. The 3rd, I felt great, the whoosing sound did not come back until the 3rd day.
I do have an appointment on monday to talk to a surgeon about moving forward with the shunt.

I always had the whoosing sound until I had the stent (not to be confused with a shunt) put in 2008. Remember when you talk to the surgeon to ask about the ICP monitor, my neuro said he will not do a shunt without the ICP monitoring first, I think TJ's also does the ICP first. Hope you get something going quickly so you can get back to "normal" Paula
After 2 weeks, my paps are a lot better and my head is slowly getting a little better. The tubing on the other hand...not such a easy thing to get used to but a trade I'm willing to make.
