Everyone has different symptoms, but eye pain is deff one of them. my eyes throb, feel like they are goign to burst, are sore and hurt when i look down or to the side. I also have ear, jaw, and other facial pain. I found taking Lyrica helped with all of this so much.

No I have not had pain much. I have been diagnosed years ago with fibromyalgia after getting a horrible bout of mono. I am now thinking it was not fibro...the only symptom I noticed out of wack was I was seeing light in my left eye

Hi. Yes eye pain is a typical symptom of IIH.
If you have paps as well, the cause could be the swelling of the optic nerves, that hurts.
Like any part of the body, if it is swollen, it hurts to move. Also, over time, with out you even noticing, you may have stopped use your eyes correctly, to see things. As it hurt, you moved your head, instead of your eye, to see. This can cause the eye muscle to become lazy as well.

Add to the pot, the high pressure going on inside the brain, with the extra csf and you can understand why your eyes hurt.
A lot of us, also have dry eye. (I have and it was a new thing with the IIH) but drops, 2-3 times a day can really help.

My eye pain went away as soon as I went on Diamox. Hopefully, once you have the LP, they will prescribe that for you.

I often have eye pains also, when I move my eyes it usually feels sore and sometimes i get random shooting pains. It seems pretty typical.

Eye pain has always been my son's primary complaint. He says it is a deep, aching, soreness that is IN his eyeball. He does not have paps. He also has what he describes as "wincing" pain. When he closes his eyes real hard, he gets a surge of pain in his eyes. He also says that his head pain "leaks" into his eyes. I have never heard that described before, but maybe someone else experiences the same thing.

I get eye pain a lot when if I have my eyes focused on something for several mins.. like when working on a computer or watching tv, and then move them around and shift my gaze.. it is very painful to move them back and forth.

I find myself VERY unsually light sensitive, especially when my pressure is up or I am on the Diamox. I would describe the pain as more of a pressure which is still very painful -- and have often described it as someone trying to scoop my eyes out , b/c the pressure is litterally that high! ( lovely visual huh!).

Yup mosy of my headaches actually appear behaind my eyes, could that be what you are actually expeariencing?
