Does anyone know of help paying for Diamox

I am unemployed and uninsured. I have heard of other medications the makers will help you with the expense if you can't afford it That is me. I am on 1500mg a day.

On my prescription bottle it shows the is Lannett. Does anyone else's have a different manufacturer?

I'm in the same boat, but I actually had a lot of luck getting my diamox perscription down from 200 dollars a month to around 50 by playing phone tag with my doctor and the local pharmacies (still an ouch, but a little easier to swing) I got my perscription switched to generic and got put on the immediate release tablets instead of the extended release capsules. For some reason, the big pink and white extended release capsules are REALLY expensive, but the little white chalky tablets aren't so much. The only downside is you have to take them more times a day. But if you haven't already done so, I'd definitely ask your doctor (over the phone, if possible, to avoid office fees) about changing your perscription slightly to the cheaper pills, and then call around to the local pharmacies to see which has the best deal. I ended up switching my perscriptions all to Wallgreens, because they have lower costs and a perscription savings plan for people who have no insurance. It helps a LOT with the costs of meds. Of course, if anyone knows of a better way, I want to know too ^_^

Thanks for the response draggrif. Actually I do take generic and I am on the prescription plan at Walgreens also. My meds are 51.00 a month. I guess it could be worse, but 51.00 still hurts.

I emailed the manufacturer and asked if they had any help for someone that is unemployed and uninsured. I will let you know what they say.
