Hiring an attorney is smart. It seems expensive at $6500 but it's only taken out of the back award if you win. Be sure you let the atty file the appeal paperwork.

Documentation helps. Document up the wazoo. How you feel, headache diary, etc., and what you aren't able to do that day as a result.

I am so glad you told me not to file I have gone in the computer and started it but had to stop because my eyes gave out. I thought for a min. I had messed up but I remember I stopped and saved it.

I also have another question maybe someone can answer for me. I filed the 1st time in Aug of 2012. and they listed my day of disability as 11-2010.But I got unemployment payments until june of 2012So when will they pay me back to????

Another thing that is hurting me is I can not pay for any drugs. No income and exhausted good family. Not taking my meds has got to look bad.

Think you might qualify for state healthcare insurance? It usually includes drug benefits. Visit your state's department of social services office and just ask what programs are available to help you. You may be surprised.

Try the free drug help websites, though several months ago I couldn't find a program that covers diamox for IH. Please try again because things change.

I have done the goodrx thing and it only gets it to 75.00 still do not have that. I have tried all the state stuff. I am single and no income and lost home living with my son. I do get food stamps 200.00 a month. Thankful for that. I check the help with meds sites often. They really do not like diamox.

Unless this is negatively affecting EVERY area of your life, I can say from experience that they will deny it every time. I know that is something that you don't want to hear, but it's the sad truth. You have got to have many doctors on board with documentation of how this is affecting your life; your general doctor, your neurologist, neurosurgeon, counselors, psychiatrists, etc. You have to be able to prove that you absolutely cannot work even a part-time job doing the simplest things. They will try to make up jobs that don't even exist to say that you could do those. They will look into the easier jobs you've had in the past and tell you that you can still do those, etc. etc. If this is something you are serious about, I would recommend going with an attorney that doesn't take any money upfront. Go with one that will only get money for his/her services IF you win your case.

I applied, by myself no attorney, i won first time adound its possible, you must prepare to the point of being obsessed. I will look for some old stuff on the subject. Dont be discouraged, its possible to win.

I was also denied 3 times and your best bet is to have all your records and journals and make sure the attorney has the copy's also so you two can go over them. The more evidence of not being able to do this or that the better off you are. Also when you see the judge make sure that they understand all the things you cant do be very elaborate about all the thing you can't do. Bring a copy of the meds you have had in the last year (you can get one from your pharmacy) make sure you have everything down to the er visits for pain. I hope this has helps you.

I have 2 appointments next week with attorneys. I am hoping maybe one will help me with paying for meds. I know they could pay for doctor visits. Has anyone had them help pay for meds?
