Yes...all normal, especially the tingling and numbness. I have also found my appetite is less, which is good cause when you can't be active calories pack on quick. I have actually lost weight though; enough neither of my drs mentioned it today. ;)

im down 7lbs from last month than I went to the heart doctor so thats exciting. I do have to say I cant drink sprite anymore, I was craving it today because of my nauseau and it tastes nasty

Hi Mary, Im afraid so.All of it, plus a bit more to come.
My hands and feet alternate between numb and being foozen. All the time I am taking Diomax.
I to lose my appetite and for some this is a great and sneaky way to lose some weight.
I lost lots the last time I was on it, not so this time,.

The sheer exsaustuion will be next. It will knock you flat, if, it is a symptom you may get.
Take heart that it gets better as the weeks go by.

Keep in mind, that this will most likely save your sight.

thanks! I was debating on waiting to take the medication because we are going on vacation next week but this has all been going on since march and I rather not lose my vision

I was just diagnosed on the 11/28 and started Diamox that day. I have also experienced the numbness and the soda issue : (. The thing that has bothered me most is the exhaustion. My only advice is to try your best not to wallow in it. I think starting it before you go on vacation is a great idea because it will force you up and out. I find if I am busy at work and whatnot the tiredness doesn't effect me as much. One positive is that every surface I sit on is the most comfortable ever because my body is just so relieved to be at rest!

I'm on 2,000 mg a day for the past month and the tingling is still there but not frequent. Before this, I loved my 2 diet pepsi's a day and can't drink soda anymore because of the taste. I did hear that some on Diamox for a long time can drink soda again, so I plan on visiting a place with a soda machine (fountain) where I can put little bits of different things into a cup to try them out!! That way I can see if diet v regular v sprite will taste good again. It's a fun thought.
I'm not hungry either. When I make myself eat, it's little bits of food only. This is good because I'm choosing better quality food and feel better about what is going into me when I eat. Less salt, less fat, less cheese, more veggies, more lean meat, more whole grain. I never liked healthy food before, but if it can make me feel better, sign me up.
I have other side effects, too. Louder ringing in ears, I'm off balance when I walk, cold hands and feet, and I found out that some sweeteners (in Vitamin Water for example) give me the runs now (lovely). I'm not sure if this is a Diamox side effect, or IIH, but right after I started Diamox, my knees ached when I bend them (to sit down, or walk down stairs) to the point that I gasp in pain. A month into Diamox and I still have the knee pain daily. Not sure about that one.

I'm at 500 mg twice a day. The best way to find the most straight forward answer is: google diamox!

Several pharmaceutical websites have descriptions, side-effects (which are divided into normal side-effects and side-effects to immediately tell your doc about). They will also provide a list of medications, vitamins,etc that do not mix with diamox.

PLEASE CONSIDER DOING THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T, AND COMPARE SEVERAL SITES!!!

Doctors time and again don't take the time to look at your medication list and subsequently cause their patients all kinds of misery. It's happened to me and it can be VERY serious.

Get facts. They are the most reliable!
