Hey everyone! Hope every one is having a pain free day!!
Well i was wondering if anyone here has ever had a baby while having an LP Shunt..reason im asking is that I am 5 weeks pregnant..YAYYYYY...but I have a shunt so im wondering how this will affect my pregnancy or if there is a possibility of the tube comming out due 2 my stomach expanding...im soo hoping that is not the case..i just want to have a normal pregnancy..and for some odd reason, since i found out that im preg i feel more pressure around my eyes! saw my eye doc last month and no paps so im hoping that there not statring to come now that im preg...uhhhhh sooo sooo much!!

Well I don't have an LP shunt nor am I pregnant, but I do know when you are pregnant your body makes more fluid and your blood pressure can go up. Hoprfully that is all it is.
Have you seen an OBGYN with experiance in dealing with PTC and pregnancy?
No..my doc is not familiar with this ptc at all! And that's the scary part ..but he said he will refer me to a specialist though..

As for the LP shunt I think those are all questions to ask your neurologist about. Since every one of us with PTC is different/unique things may be different for you than with others.
