I know some of you may not think that I need to be on disability, but in all of my doctors opinions (yes, neuro's included) I do.
So I received a letter two days ago letting me know that I have now been denied at the appeal level.
I just called my lawyer and they informed me that they have already been preparing for the hearing level and that I should not be surprised that some of it will have to do with my age (25). But they are really great to work with and are so informative!
So the point of this is that if anyone is fighting for/with disability, get a lawyer if you do not already have one and KEEP FIGHTING! It seems like it would be so exhausting, but it really does not get you too exhausted...a few phone calls here and there.
Also, just wanted to throw in here that my neurologist did mention on Wednesday that my eyes look "Fantastic" when looking into them.
So anyhow...my battle is not only PTC, it is my epilepsy as well...but you catch my drift. Sickness is a disability...you do not have to be missing a limb or have cancer, you do not have to be going through chemo or any of that...PTC/IIH is a disability. I will fight, till my dying day, to make sure that it is known to be one.

Thanks! If I do, it will probably have a lot to do with my Epilepsy because the damn doctor the state sent me to judged me solely on my seizures. So lame!

How they could use age as a relevant factor in determining the difference between being able or unable to perform gainful employment while being inflicted with an illness that is no less remorseful to someone who is 17 or 26 than it is at 50 is beyond me.
Someone who is 17 or 18 and in bad enough shape they can't remain enrolled in school for example; should be proof well enough the person isn't going to be able to stay employed and/or make earnings high enough to cover the cost of living either unless they got lucky enough to land a job at a one-off restaurant in a stockbroker belt as a Host/Hostess, or one as a personal celebrity assistant or something.
Have every medical record to include the stuff you dont think is important, once you apply your case with be assigned to an outside independant agency called social security determinations, find out your wokers name, number, and office location as you want to communicate everything through them not social security. Kep a illness jounal with a pain scale include physical and mental symptoms and every crazy thought you have, you want to show the determinations office how your illness limits you mentally and physically. Keep track in this bool about vision, dizzyness, even how you eal with the pain if its ten showers a day then pills and sitting reclined because the pressure lets you sleep like this and its unbearable to be awake in this condition.
