I'm so confused. Went back to my neuro for a check up after 3 weeks on diamox. Was taking 500 mg. I don't get migraines, but I get intense pressure in my ears and that horrible wooshing sound. I also get neck pain and mild headaches. All of this went away immediately after the LP, but about 2 weeks later I started getting a little wooshing back in my ear. Not nearly as intense as before, but it was there. My doctor said that since it had come back that was an indication of my pressure being back up and he increased my dosage to 750mg. I was on sequels, but since they only come in 500mg, I had to switch to generic 250mg tablets. Three days after starting them the pressure and wooshing in my ears was way worse than it had been. I felt like I had cotton jammed in my ears and the noise was constant. I called my neuro to tell him that the symptoms were much worse since taking the new dosage. So, he told me to go back down to 500mg since this could mean that my pressure is low. Huh? How can the wooshing and pressure in my ears be an indication of high pressure and low pressure? That can't be right. Can it?

Well, I'm back to 500mg. 250 in the morning and 250 at night and I still feel like my pressure is high. The ears are still stuffy. My neck is starting to hurt and I've had a mild headache here and there. I'm thinking I should talk to my doctor about trying 750mg again and sticking it out a little longer. Maybe my pressure was just up coincidentally at the same time I started the new dosage and that's why I was feeling worse? What do y'all think?

I am so new to this journey and already I'm so frustrated and depressed. I was so naive when I was diagnosed. I thought. Oh, ok. No biggie. They'll give me a pill and all will be well again. Riiiiiiight.
