QUOTES AND POEMS i had listed a lot of this in my games group, but ds deleted the quotes section all by itself, unless an admin did that and i don't think an admin CAN do that. wtf? wonder where i can find my faves? its the second time this kind of thing happened, the other was from another group, she deleted the group so all info was GONE. wtf?
ATTITUDE:
"We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how i react to it.
I have only slipped away to the next room. I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me.
Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same that it ever was. There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you. For an interval. Somewhere. Very near. Just around the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be one together with Christ.
"Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor, peering apprehensively
into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.
I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid. As she
stopped at my kennel, I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the
back of my cage. I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today.
Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy, and I didn't want her to think
poorly of them.
As she read my kennel card, I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my
past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life.
She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me.
I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek, and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.
Soon my kennel door opened, and her smile was so bright that I instantly
jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to
always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that
radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out
there who haven't walked the corridors. so many more to be saved. At least I
could save one.
" ... compulsive gamblers are men and women who have lost the ability to control our gambling We know that no real compulsive gambler ever recovers control. All of us felt at times that we were regaining control, but such intervals - usually brief - were inevitably followed by still less control, which led in time to pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization. We are convinced to a man that cgs of our type are in the grip of a progressive illness.
Over any considerable period we get worse, never better.
We are like men who have lost their legs; they never grow new ones. Neither does there appear to be any kind of treatment which will make cgs of our kind like other men. We have tried every imaginable remedy. In some instances there has been brief recovery, followed always by a still worse relapse. Physicians who are familiar with compulsive gambling agree there is no such thing as making a normal gambler out of a compulsive gambler. Science may one day accomplish this, but it hasn't done so yet."
“Everybody isn't your friend. Just because they hang around you and laugh with you doesn't mean they're for you. Just because they say they got got your back, doesn't mean they won't stab you in it. People pretend well. Jealousy sometimes doesn't live far. So know your circle. At the end of the day real situations expose fake people so pay attention.”

“A relationship means you come together to make each other better. It’s not all about you, and it’s not all about them. Its all about the relationship.
Support them in their dreams/vision just as much as you would expect them to support you. Make each other better. Challenge each other to go beyond average. Pull out the greatness from within each other.
Make sure they can find their biggest fan in you, and you can find yours in them.”

“If someone requires you to change who you are in order to be with or around them, they’re not for you. If you can’t be yourself around someone, they’re not for you. Someone that has their life together won’t sit around and tell you who you need to be. They’ll tell you to find who you are and continue to improve on that person.”

"I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; for I may not pass this way again."
