QUOTES AND POEMS i had listed a lot of this in my games group, but ds deleted the quotes section all by itself, unless an admin did that and i don't think an admin CAN do that. wtf? wonder where i can find my faves? its the second time this kind of thing happened, the other was from another group, she deleted the group so all info was GONE. wtf?
ATTITUDE:
"We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how i react to it.
"The dog died...Belker slipped peacefully away...
The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any
difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact
that animal lives are shorter than human lives. The little boy, Shane, who had been
listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why.'
Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned
me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.
He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life
-- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?'
The six-year-old continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'
No matter how they leave us... they are still gone.
No matter how much time you have... it's never enough.
No matter how prepared you believe you are... you aren't.
Now matter what anyone says... it still hurts
A loss is a loss. It isn't that they are "like family" to us....they are family to us.
Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.
(I was born on a Sunday)
Sunday's child is full of grace,
Monday's child is fair of face;
Tuesday's child loves to race,
Wednesday's child is kind of heart;
Thursday's child is very smart,
Friday's child will never part;
Saturday's child is good of heart.

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places...
But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry."
Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms, 1929
US author & journalist (1899 - 1961)
"Life is short, Occasionally Bend the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance"
Weep not for me though I am gone;
into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will but not for long,
upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace,
my soul's at rest.
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was blessed;
for all those many years.
There is no pain,
I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts.
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath;
remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
but celebrate my life.
with both hands, with all their hearts, without a second thought."
the goal of life is to grow
the nature of life is to change -
the beauty of life is to give -
the essence of life is to care -
the joy of life is to love -

I think back now on all the milestones you passed along the way
From the very beginning... to the last heart-wrenching day.
So many happy times we shared with you right by my side
I remember your favorite toy and your first..and last... car ride.
Oh, the time that you got lost and and I feared the worst for you
But safely found you became my "little daughter", a secret only we knew.
You were right by me in both good times and bad
Most of those memories quite happy, but a few were still sad.
You and I watched your "brother" grow up
What a great big world to a curious 'lil pup.
You would run right past him playing catch me if ya can
Until one day he played no more, now, a grown up man
(Just between you and me if he could romp once more with you
He would be on his knees in a heartbeat and play like he used to do)
Time flew by, but we never think that it will
To do it all again, yes, of course I would, but still...
I hope you knew what a joy you were to me
Even towards the end when your eyes could no longer see
When I knew you couldn't hear me say "I love you"
I pray you still remembered my love for you stayed true.
Even as I held on to you while you took your last breath, so deep
It wasn't just my eyes, but my soul, it too did weep.
For just a brief moment our spirits touched each other
Just as they do between all daughter's ...and their mother.
Happy Birthday my little daughter.
